Walk Route

Registered walkers can choose to walk up to 25 miles, but essentially there is an 12 mile route, an 18 mile route and a 25 mile route. The route passes through some of the most delightful countryside in Suffolk.

The Walk begins and finishes at Amberfield School, Ipswich and follows the banks of the beautiful River Orwell as it makes its way majestically to Felixstowe. Some of the route is over private land and so the Walk offers the opportunity to see parts of the countryside not usually accessible to the general public. Dogs may not accompany walkers.

The route is signposted and has checkpoints every three or four miles, where drinks and toilet facilities are available. If necessary, transport can be arranged to return walkers to the finish from any checkpoint, if they feel unable to continue.
